Request A Content Export From Your Current Provider

GTxcel can extract your site’s data via an API or feed if you have access available. This is GTxcel’s preferred method for receiving a site import.

Otherwise, GTxcel can receive the export of content from your content management system in an industry-standard formatted text file, such as CSV or XML. We would like a separate file for each type of content to be imported (galleries, articles). If the content has relationships (such as a gallery file is embedded in a certain article), the import data must include a mapping file that shows those relationships.

It is also important that the files include the URLs for all existing content so that we can redirect them to their new URLs.

If you are unable to provide a standard formatted text file or access to an API, we can try using an actual database. If this is the only option available, please put a copy of the database on a publicly accessible location. It must stay up and available for at least one month.

Note:  GTxcel will do one gap import seven days before launch to retrieve the remaining content produced between the first import and launch. The timing on retrieving this data will be critical. If you have a minimum turnaround time for producing a gap export, let us know what that window is in advance.
