Rayos Platform sites can utilize commenting features through the Facebook Comments Plugin.

Checklist

  • Tell your project coordinator whether you would like commenting on your site

If you want commenting:

  • Provide your Facebook App ID

Facebook Commenting

If you would like commenting, send your project coordinator your Facebook App ID. You can find your App ID or create a new App ID by logging in to your site’s Facebook account, then using the tool found here: https://developers.facebook.com/apps

To create a new app:

    1. Click the +Add a New App button
    2. Give your app a display name related to your site
    3. Click Create App ID
    4. Go to Settings>Basic
    5. Under App Domains, add:
      • Your domain
      • gtxcel.com
      • gtxcel.net
      • pantheonsite.io
    6. Under Privacy Policy URL and Terms of Service URL, add the URLs for the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service on your current site
    7. Choose a category from the Category dropdown
    8. Save
    9. Make sure the Status setting at the top of the screen is set to On. Confirm you want to turn the app on.
    10. Copy the App ID in the upper left portion of the screen. Provide this App ID to your project coordinator.

Signing Up As A Facebook Developer

If going to the developer link above leads to a screen like this:

You will need to register your site’s Facebook account as a Facebook developer before you can create an App. Click the Register Now button and follow the on-screen prompts; they will ask you for some information so Facebook knows who you are. That’s all that’s needed to sign up your site as a Facebook Developer.
